Tony Fabulous

Tony Fabulous

Tony Fabulous (a.k.a. Antonio Fabuloso) Antonio Fabuloso was born on the southern tip of Naples...Texas, in an undisclosed year.    His grandfather ran the only gondola service across the Rio Grande.    It was usually empty heading south, but was always full going north.    He was a small-town boy with big city dreams, just like any other full-blooded Italian on his block.    He grew up and found the bright lights of Las Vegas calling him, so he packed up his few belongings and hitch-hiked his way towards the city that never sleeps.

The city can be cruel, and Antonio was no exception to the hardships of life.    But fate was kind to him, when he met up with a struggling band leader who was looking for a lead singer.   Antonio changed his name to Tony Fabulous, auditioned for the part, and got the job!  Things started looking up for Tony.  He had money, he had women, and everywhere he went, people loved him and wanted to be like him.

For many years, Tony was a star on the lounge circuit between 1955 and 1968, which is when he wrote most of his well-known songs.    The songs that he has written are based on his life experiences, some of them good, some of them not so good, but Tony doesn't mind sharing with his audience.    He feels that even in sharing his negative experiences, it brings him closer to his audience.    Alas, sometimes those negative experiences can be harmful, and after several divorces, Tony hit a slump in his personal life, which eventually spilled over into his career.    So, he called it quits, telling the public that his greatest treasure was his voice, and he was wearing it out.    He moved to Fullerton, California, and began the life of a recluse, occupying himself with his favorite past-time of growing tomatoes in his own backyard.

Tony tried living the quiet existence of a non-entity but the longing of bright lights and center stage kept calling out to him, making him yearn once again for the life of stardom he had once enjoyed.    In 1994, he decided to come out of seclusion and make a comeback, but his old Vegas band was no longer around.  One day, while sitting in a cafe eating jelly donuts and milk, reminiscing about the past, he met Kenny Treseder, a lively up and coming band leader who was looking for a lead singer.    Kenny told Tony of his fabulous idea and the rest is history.   They began making magic, writing songs and getting a swingband together, calling themselves "The Big Shots starring Tony Fabulous".   In 1995 Tony was back in the recording studios and put out his first major CD in many years.  They found a club that would hire them, and started performing.    The next thing they knew, people of all ages were clamoring for the music of Tony Fabulous and The Big Shots!

Tony is very passionate about his work and that passion comes through his performance, especially when single ladies are present.    Tony has been married six times and is still married to the current Mrs. Fabulous.
