This just in! John Duane is hosting a special tribute to the Hillbilly "Green Team" on Wednesday, February 11 at 8:00 pm at the Long Beach Melodrama Theatre: http://www.allamericanmelodrama.com. Special musical guests on stage that night will be John Eaden and Rick Dunham.

It seems that sometimes we take the most wonderful Disneyland attraction (The Billies) for granted. To show how much you care, make a quick visit to City Hall and fill out a compliment sheet on the boys, or just click here.
Disney is changing its theme this year to "Celebration". This year, they are offering a free pass to Disneyland on your birthday, but you have to sign up at the Disneyland Celebration webpage. If you are a premium annual passholder, you will get something comparable to a one day admission into Disneyland.

Billy and Golden Horseshoe News~
The tours have stopped reserving tables in the Golden Horseshoe--yippeee!!
Small World and Haunted Mansion-- are down until some time in February to switch them back to their normal operation.
Sleeping Beauty's Castle-- The walk-thru of Sleeping Beauty's Castle is now open! They did a wonderful job, keeping the nostalgic feel of the classic fairytale and artistry while using new technology to enhance certain features. Check it out, it's not to be missed!
Thursday, January 1, 2009~ ~ It was a bit crowded this day although not terribly so, so Ken, Christine and I went to the Happiest place on earth. For the Billies, it was a Green Team day and it was one of the funniest Christmas shows I've seen in a long time. They did many Christmas songs, including "Billy got run over by a Reindeer" at which point a group sitting up front decided to walk out, which inspired Little John to ridicule them as they slowly made their way through the crowded Shoe. The audience was in stitches as Little John berated them for leaving while he was "pooring out his hillbilly heart" to them. After they left, he said "Good! now we can have fun!". It was a very funny show, and very funny to see Billy Bass dressed up as Ghost of Christmas Past, Present and Future throughout the show. I will try to get pictures up soon. On a side note (yet a very important note), it will be sad to see the Green Team go--they are a great addition to the Golden Horseshoe. I hope TWDC finds it in their hearts to re-evaluate their decision to cut the musicians back, and have them fully employed at the park again. The musicians all over both parks add so much to the atmosphere of each individual "land", and I feel sorry for guests who come to the park during days there are no musicians. The musicians are an integral part of Disneyland, to make it different and so much better than other theme parks. I know that Walt himself would keep the musicians full-time.
One thing more...I would just like to say a continued "Thank You" to John, Kirk, Evan and Dennis and all the other Billies for their incredible talent, ever-present kindness and honest friendship through the many years and over-700 shows that I have seen. Thanks guys! :)
All opinions on this page are exactly that,...my opinions and observations of the shows I have seen. If you wish to make any comments, you can email me at the bottom of this page.

Here is a recent message from Evan--"I play with the Cody Bryant show most Thu/Fri/Sat's since December... I usually play fiddle 99% of the evening, but often there is a Billy Tell moment. Come and go any time you like for food/drinks/both... SW corner of Riverside & Main, across from Equestrian Ctr Main Gate and Pickwick. It's a pretty great band! I hope you check us out some time soon!!! - - Evan.
